![]() The Carnegie Center will kick off this year’s New Books by Great Writers series on Friday, September 15 at 7:30. Local poet and project coordinator Leatha Kendrick will be on hand to offer a literary reading and a sneak preview of events and workshops planned in the series, which will spotlight new works by Erik Reece, author of Lost Mountain; Molly Peacock, author of Cornucopia; and former Kentucky poet laureate Richard Taylor, author of Sue Mundy: A Novel of the Civil War. The kick-off event for this year’s series is planned in conjunction with Lexington’s Gallery Hop; “The Year of the Dog,” paintings and photographs by Pat Lawrence and Marcia Hopkins, will be on display in the Carnegie Center’s Laurie S. Bottoms Gallery. Join us for an evening of art, poetry, and literary fellowship.
